How to be happy in yourself

The first step on how to be happy in yourself is this...

Stop wishing.

Wishing is wonderful (who doesn't love dreaming), but it also creates unhappiness ... not-enoughness. Lack.

Do you ever find yourself saying things like, "I wish I was like I used to be," "I can't lose weight", or "Life is just the same old, same old". I listen to these words time after time, week after week....women ask me, 'How can I feel happier'. I even used to speak those words to myself too. But, over the years, I've learned that our words express what we believe - and what we believe becomes our reality.

If you focus on what you're not, what you can't do, or what's wrong in your life, you'll only create more of the same. And if you base your happiness on waiting until things are how you want them to be, you'll always feel stuck. To be happy, the first thing you need to do is focus on what makes you happy. It's a feeling, not a doing.

Appreciation is a powerful tool. By shifting your mind from what's wrong to what's right, you open up so many new possibilities. When you're happy, you feel inspired to create from a different place. You know that the past is gone, and you're ready to create a beautiful new reality.

Wendy Byard - How I feel happy

How I feel happy in myself...it goes like this.

Try using the sentences, I'm learning to___________, I'm creating more time to be able to ________________, I working towards _________ is so much more positive. Want me to be more specific? Well, you could try things like "I'm learning to prioritise self-care by taking a yoga class once a week" or "I'm learning to express gratitude by writing down three things I'm thankful for each day."

And here are some examples of people who wished and really meant it.

*Tamae Watanabe is the oldest woman to ever climb Mount Everest at 63.

*Wang Deshun, an 80-year-old model...he's fit too

*Wendy Byard (that's me, by the way) saved for over 6 years to be able to camp on the ice in Antarctica.

Now I'm human, I've been there, and I acknowledge the challenges and difficulties of trying to be happy. I'm not being overly simplistic or dismissive of the genuine struggles women face when trying to improve their life....and that's why I do what I do. I help women who feel overweight, overworked and overwhelmed to live life with passion and sparkle.

Time is limited; it might not seem so, but please don't waste it wishing or feeling stuck, for that matter. Take action because, with determination and perseverance, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

You are a powerful creator, so be careful with what you allow into your mind. Focus on what brings you joy, what you appreciate, and what's right in your world. If you make this a daily practice, everything is possible for you. Remember, your words shape your reality - so reframe your mindset for happiness and see what unfolds.

So, what do you wish for? Tell me, I can help.
