If you’re going to tell a lie, make it a good one

Last week I got an email from someone I follow in business. Each week I hear about one of their clients who has had amazing results in no time at all, which is wonderful, but I’m wondering....who are all these people?

This week I received an email that was clearly a bit of a porky, because of the COVID restrictions it just isn’t possible. This got me thinking, what lies do we tell ourselves?

One of the biggest is

" IM NOT ENOUGH"

I’m not pretty enough

I’m not slim enough

I’m not clever enough

I’m not young enough

I’m not good enough

The stupid thing about this lie is that we believe it’s true, but why?

Stop! If you tell yourself you’re fat, ugly, old, useless it’s all a lie, if you are going to do it make it a much better one than that. Tell yourself.

I AM ENOUGH

It’s a much better lie to tell, and at least then you’ll believe it to be true.

Now you’re going to tell me that those statements are true, how do I know? Because I used to say them too. Another lie, I still do sometimes until I catch myself.

You’re also going to tell me it’s ok for me because now I’ve lost weight and have a lot more confidence in my life is perfect…wrong again.

But it’s getting better.

So what can you do to make sure you remember you are enough?

Practice self care/self love, whatever you want to call it.

Self love - Wendy Byard

Don’t think you have time?

Rubbish.

We’re going to make time. That’s the first step.

You are everything you need to be, but if you want to be better, well that’s ok too, we can work on that.

Take half an hour a day to do something frivolous for yourself. Just for you, not the house, not family members, you. You’re the most important person in your life. It doesn’t have to be anything wild, it could mean taking a bath, reading a book, doing some gardening, meditation……..have you seen my free mediation? Click on this LINK.

That’s it, that’s the first step. There are lots more steps, but we need to start slowly and surely to make it a habit. So let’s get going…what are you going to choose to do for yourself today that will make you realise that.

YOU ARE ENOUGH.
